BORDER AREAS

In October 2021, I started taking photographs for the research project "The Liberal Script in Ukraine's Contested Border Regions" in collaboration with ZOiS - Centre for East European and International Studies, at the border to Poland in Ukraine. In February 2022 I was at the Ukrainian-Hungarian border one week before the beginning of the Russian war of aggression. After that, the continuation of the photo project was out of mind, but ZOiS and I decided to continue working with the Ukrainian photographer Anastasiia Kuznietsova at the places where I had taken photos before the war.
