The main focus of my work lies on the social and natural environment serving as a storage location of human activity. As an artist in Berlin, I mainly deal with the transformation processes of places and the topography of East- and Central Europe. My fascination for human and social geography is the result of my long-lasting project-orientated travels around the transformation countries of Europe over the last 20 years. In my journeys I search for places that indicate break and change and investigate diverse measuring stations: border areas, transportation routes or any other concentration points where goods, knowledge and „human resources“ circulate and create the profile of the history-charged, yet fragile continent of Europe. The question of the visible and invisible interrelation and interdependence of different systems of culture and nature is a further aspect of my work.
